Is The Kitchen a restaurant?
The Kitchen is not a traditional restaurant, although we are a food-oriented space and passionate food enthusiasts. We primarily host private events and also some public events. You can join us for a public Participatory Dining Experience, which requires an advanced reservation.

When is The Kitchen open?
Our hours of operation vary weekly depending on the public and private events we are hosting. Please check out our events calendar for more information.
Our staff work in the space Monday-Friday from 9am-5pm and are available for questions during this time.
Are Participatory Dining Experiences a cooking class?
No, The Kitchen does not offer formal cooking classes and you will not be taught specific techniques or how to prepare a full meal in our Participatory Dining Experiences. Instead, you and other guests will prepare one portion of a larger meal in our communal kitchen. Once all cooking is complete, you will sit down to enjoy your meal together. Do you have parking?
Yes! The Kitchen and The Studio have parking just across the street from our building at the Livingston United Methodist Church parking lot located at 200 E. Livingston Avenue. Please view our parking map for more information.
What if I need to cancel my reservation for a public event?
Tickets to our public events are non-refundable. If you need to cancel your reservation, we will issue you a gift card that can be used for any future purchase at The Kitchen. Please contact us directly for any changes to your reservation.
Are you able to accommodate my dietary restrictions?
Yes, with notice we will make our best effort to accommodate your dietary needs so that you can cook and enjoy the food you love the most. Please don’t hesitate to contact us directly with any dietary concerns.
What kind of private events can I book?
If you can dream it, we can (most likely) do it. Our two event spaces are your open book and have flexible floor plans and menus to accommodate your party size and event needs. Contact us today to share your vision and let our staff help plan your event.
Where can I view The Kitchen’s catering menus?
With the wide variety of events offered, our catering menus are not available online. Please contact us directly with the vision for your event and we will be more than happy to share our catering menus and easy-to-plan event packages.
What is The Studio at The Kitchen?
The Studio is our event space located right next door to The Kitchen space. With its grand opening in 2018, it is perfect for more intimate special gatherings. The Studio is open for a variety of public events and caters best to private boutique events. Learn more about the space here.
Do I need a reservation for Participatory Dining Experiences?
Yes, you must reserve space to attend a Participatory Dining Experience. We divvy up the menu and cooking needs for the night based on the total number of people coming that evening. This ensures everyone gets the robust experience they are looking for and we can get dinner on the table in a reasonable time frame.

How long does a Participatory Dining Experience last?
You can expect a Dining Event to last between 3.5 and 4 hours (roughly 2 hours of cooking, 2 hours of enjoying) depending on the theme and the complexity of the menu. We encourage you to dress in comfortable shoes, and view a sample event for more information on the experience.
Are Participatory Dining Events appropriate for my child?
Most of our public events are adult-oriented, however, please check our calendar for those which might be child-appropriate. You are also welcome to host your own private dining experience in which kids are more than welcome to join in the experience!
How many people attend a Participatory Dining Experience?
Our average, our public dinner parties can accommodate up to 40 guests. Participatory Dining Experiences can also be reserved on a private basis for 10-50 people and are commonly booked for corporate team-building events, bachelor or bachelorette parties, birthday parties and more.
Are beverages included in the price?
On most occasions, alcoholic beverages are not included in the price of a Participatory Dining Experience unless otherwise noted on the specific event page. A full bar is available at every event where cash and credit cards are accepted for payment.
